We met in church with a little assistance from our daughters. We are actually already married and celebrating our 10th anniversary with a reaffirmation ceremony!
After leaving our government jobs we became fulltime missionaries to at-risk children in Prince Geore's County, Maryland.
Our reaffirmation ceremony will take place May 12, 2007, 4:30 pm at our home church, Woodstream Church, 9800 Lottsford Road, Mitchellville, Maryland 20721.
We chose a glitzy, golden, in-door garden theme as our wedding motif to celebrate the natural beauty God has given us in nature as well as the glimmer we'll find in our heavenly residence. We are incorporating our heritage (Jerry's Gaelic (Irish) heritage and my colodrful collage of Jewish, African and Indian history in subtle ways. We will reaffirm our vows under a Jewish Chuppa (canopy) which is a symbol of the home to be built (in our case its our relationship). Look for other exiting glimpses of our history.
Held in Woodstream Church's beautiful atrium the reception will begin shortly after the ceremony. Guest will be able to mingle as they enjoy tasty pre-dinner treats under the beautiful sounds of easy listening and gospel music while we are taking pictures. After-wards they will be escourted to their place of dining to enjoy a delicious buffet style meal prepared by Campbell's Classic Catering service and the remaining festivites of the night!!
Living on a missioanry salary we had to classify the reception as an "adult only event" (with the exception of the children in the party and immediate family) but please know that if we could we would have loved to celebrate with all of our family and friends.
We will embark on a 7 day cruise to the Eastern Carribean island s of Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Marteen on the Carnival Victory cruise line. Although our flight plans are not set yet we intend to fly out of BWI airport bound for Miami, FL. Our cruise sets sail the day after our celebration at 4 pm. We intend to fly out Saturday night, Sunday morning at the latest.
We hope you can come and celebrate with us as we thank God and others for their contributions to our family over the past 10 years. Special thanks to our parents for joining God in growing and maturing us and to our children and extended family for their part in our joy that we celebrate today.
